Nishan Yatra represents carrying the flag of victory and sacrifice. The saffron, red, or golden flag represents Barbarik offering his head to Lord Krishna. The flag is decorated with peacock feathers and coconuts.

Most devotees walk 17 km from Ringas Junction to Khatu town. Offering the Nishan flag at the temple symbolizes absolute surrender of one’s ego and problems at the feet of Baba Shyam.
